In 1973, a group of parents identified a need for young people with learning disabilities/ Downs to have more opportunities to socialise with their peers within their local community. A committee was born. Its key purpose was to provide a social, recreational and respite opportunity for young adults with special needs within the Newry Mourne & South Armagh District area. This was the start of what is now Newry Gateway Club.
We have a range of fun filled activities such as Drama, Art, Music and Sports facilitated by our experienced staff and volunteers.
